It is likely most college athletes would want to still play a game even if they have very little to no practice time prior to the game. If TAMU went through with playing the game and the game ended up being a joke because enough TAMU players weren't "ready" or TAMU ended up looking like a MASH unit because of injuries during the game, then everyone would have been very critical of the NCAA, TAMU, and Gator Bowl for allowing that to happen.
